Implants
It deals with endobony screws in general. After their introduction in dentistry some thirty years ago, they have been much perfected since then.
Nowadays they all are very much alike in the design and with the same characteristics.
The important thing is that they have an American or a European certification.
The implants, we use in our practice, are manifactured in Florida in the United States by BIO-HORIZONS, which is ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 13485:2003 certified.
They are approved by FDA; they have also the CE (CE 0482) imprint according to the 93/42/CE law of the European Community which is due to all the medical devices sold in Europe. Several international patents also cover them.
The implant should be planned before the procedure with a series of x-ray studies to assess the characteristics of the receiving bone.
The surgical procedure is carried out under local anaesthesia.
The endobony implantation is used in the case of total or partial edentulouism to increase the stability or removable prostheses in general or to replace one or more dental elements.
