Children should be taught not to be afraid of the dentist from an early age.
The first dental check-up should be done around 6 years of age, with the beginning of school, unless there are particular dental problems.
Children’s bad habits should always be eliminated, such as sucking their thumbs or biting their lips. Their diet too should also limit the eating of sweets.
With the proper method, we can teach children how to use a toothbrush correctly. We suggest using a new toothbrush every two to three month. We can also intervene with specific interceptive therapy whenever the situation arises.
To combat cavities in a more determined fashion, sealing tooth pits and fissures and topical electrophoresis fluoridation may also be used.
